Microservices for Public Platforms

Microservice architectures and APIs are a way to evolve enterprise and public-sector platforms without treating the institution as a single deployment.

The pattern is practical rather than ideological: services that can be integrated, data models that can be shared, and deployments that can run in cloud and hybrid environments.

This note draws from the design of microservice and API architectures for public-sector and enterprise platforms in Latin America — including technical coordination between development and infrastructure teams, and attention to performance and scalability.

The architecture has to be buildable, operable and able to evolve with the institution that runs it.
